Andy Sheppard Quartet w 12on14

Piotr Szajewski

W warszawskim klubie w środę 29 marca brytyjski saksofonista wystąpi z programem „Surrounded by Sea”

Andy Sheppard wyrusza w trasę koncertową po Europie promującą album „Surrounded by Sea” (2015) wydany nakładem wytwórni fonograficznej ECM.

Andy Sheppard – tenor and soprano saxophones

A succesful recording artist, bandleader and composer (for film, TV and theatre),  Andy Sheppard is one of a few Bristish jazz artists to have made a significant international impact. He has worked with an astonishing range of musical partners and is remarkably, one of a very few solists to have played in the big bands of all three of the greatest post-war jazz composers, Carla Bley, George Russell and Gil Evans.

Eivind Aarset – guitar and electronics
Eivind Aarset can be heard on ECM discs with Nils Petter Molvaer, Marilyn Mazur, and Arild Andersen – and also appears on new albums by both Jon Hassell and Arve Henriksen, respectively „Last Night The Moon Came Dropping Its Clothes In The Street” and „Cartography”. Aarest’s own discs include, „Electronique Noir” (Jazzland, 1998) often instanced as a key document of electro-jazz, both for its deployment of club grooves and its swathes effects.

Michel Benita – double bass
Born in Algeria, Michel came to Paris in the early ‘80s, where he made series of intense working relationships – with Dewey Redman, Erik Truffaz and Rita Marcotulli among many – and has worked closely with Hilton McConnino, the scenographer for fashion house Hermes, on fashion sjows all over the world. Steeped in jazz, he loves folk and country music, which has shaped his latest album Ramblin’.
