Nowa płyta kwartetu Fortuna / Goldsbury / Minchello / Grassi wychodzi 30 listopada!

„The Last Of The Beboppers” to najnowszy album Macieja Fortuny zrealizowany w Hitman Studio, Kinnelon w New Jersey. W nagraniu wzięli udział hammondzista Mark Minchello, perkusista Lou Grassi i saksofonista Mack Goldsbury – dwukrotnie nominowany do nagrody Grammy w kategorii: „Best Improvised Jazz Solo”.

Dla Macieja Fortuny jest to zdecydowanie najbardziej mainstreamowy album jaki nagrał do tej pory. Artyści, którzy wzięli udział w nagraniu to weterani nowojorskiej sceny jazzowej z lat sześćdziesiątych i siedemdziesiątych. Należą do ostatniej generacji artystów z czasów prawdziwego boomu na hardbopowy jazz. Album „The Last Of The Beboppers” stanowi również osobisty hołd złożony wybitnemu hammondziście Charlesowi Earlandowi. Wydawnictwo ukazuje się nakładem Fortuna Music.

Mack Goldsbury o albumie:
My first Jazz recording in New York was in the late ’70s with the great Jazz organist Charles Earland, “The Mighty Burner”. It took place in the famous recording studio of Rudy Van Gelder. I had played with many Jazz organ bands during my time in Dallas, Texas, so I felt at home playing on that recording. There is nothing like playing with a great Hammond player. My good friend and great trumpeter, Maciej Fortuna, was going to be in The States before he and I were to do a European tour. I made a side trip to New York to meet him. A few months earlier while in New York I had played with organist, Mark Minchello and my old friend from the late ‘70s in New York drummer, Lou Grassi . It was so much fun that I took this opportunity to set up this recording . Mark has a great recording studio so we got right to work. I wanted this to be like my first session with Charles Earland. The musicians met, rehearsed a tune and then recorded it. That’s how we recorded this CD no overdubs or playing our solos over. It is like a live concert. Sit back and enjoy.
