BŁĘKITNE ŚWIATŁO MAGDY PISKORCZYK

W Singapurze i Malezji ukazała się na CD kompilacja zatytułowana „Jazz Addiction”, prezentująca 17 utworów wykonywanych przez współczesne wokalistki pochodzące z różnych stron świata. Jedną z nich jest Magda Piskorczyk.
Ta konstelacja wokalistek to m.in. Molly Johnson, Adrienne Hindmarsh, Irene Atman, Ida Landsberg, Daisy Chute, Katrine Madsen, Dee Daniels, Stephanie Porter, Sofia Laiti.
Utworem zamykającym składankę jest I’d Rather Go Blind śpiewany przez Magdę – z albumu „Blues Travelling”. Płyta „Jazz Addiction” ukazała się w serii audiofilskiej DW Mastering (24bit 96kHz).
Brytyjski magazynu „Blues Matters!” opublikował w najnowszym numerze (2011/61) 4-stronicowy wywiad z Magdą Piskorczyk, zatytułowany: „A Blue Light Behind the Iron Curtain. An Uplifting Interview with Magda Piskorczyk” (Błękitne światło za żelazną kurtyną. Podnoszący na duchu wywiad z Magdą Piskorczyk).
Jej rozmówcą jest Brian Kramer, muzyk pochodzący z Brooklynu, aktualnie mieszkający w Szwecji, znany m.in. ze współpracy z Erikiem Bibbem (płyta Erica „Home To Me”). Brian jest bardzo aktywny na sztokholmskiej scenie bluesowej, tam też, w klubie Stampen Magdę poznał, zobaczył na scenie i na chwilę dołączył do niej (wideo: http://youtu.be/HZqAXo6lhTY).

BRIAN: Eric [Bibb] helped confirm for me that you don’t have to only focus on the “low-down” blues to understand where the spirit comes from. There is just as important a “positive/uplifting” side to blues that rarely gets explored or used as a main focus.
I find that you also have an ability to inspire people with your music and your movements. You had all the ladies at Club Stampen screaming for more (and all the guys wishing for something else...). Do you have this in your mind as a focus or intention; to make people feel good or happy with your performance?
MAGDA: Singing and playing music makes me feel free, makes me feel high. I don’t need any drugs or alcohol to get high you know... And when I sing I feel like I’m overwhelmed with good spirit, with good emotions that I want to share with people who listen to my music. And I also want to share it with my band who are very important for me. Sure, I want to give people as much as possible from depth of my heart. I want to give them joy, happiness, nostalgia...
I want them to feel what I feel when I sing. I always react with the audience. I take my guitar or mic and I go to the people not for making a good show but to see their faces, their eyes, their beautiful smiles. When concert goes on and the audience respond to the feelings I give them, then there is a beautiful circle of good energy between us that start to exist. So you might say that yes, I want people to be the part of the music I create on stage.
I want to remove this line between the “artist on stage” and the audience. I want to be as close as possible to the people. In physical and emotional point of view as well. So that is why I ask people to clap their hands, strike their fingers, I ask them to stand up and sing or shout with me for example. And I’m not doing it to satisfy myself but simply I do it for them so they could experience this beautiful freedom which exists in the music.
